FROM FIRST DATES
TO FOREVER
In the age-old story of boy meets girl (with a modern twist), Tom and Alex crossed paths on Hinge, where witty banter led to a series of on-brand dates—think figure drawing classes, hunting down the best-designed menus in the city, and museum-hopping. They quickly bonded over their shared love for design, architecture, photography, and, of course, delicious food. Their fate was sealed during the global pandemic when they became inseparable, spending three months with Alex's family and proving that they could survive anything together. Since then, they’ve built a life in their curated home with a view of the Chrysler Building and smart lights that Tom loves—and Alex still can’t figure out.

The Proposal
WHISKED AWAY
Picture this: a typical Saturday morning with Alex armed and ready to conquer her to-do list—laundry, packing for their upcoming trip, deep cleaning the apartment—you name it. But Tom had other plans. He managed to convince Alex to hit pause for a moment and make pancakes, just like they used to. As they reminisced about those early days of blueberry and banana pancakes and the life they’d built together, things started heating up—literally.
Just as the pan hit the perfect temperature and Alex was about to pour the first round of pancakes, Tom dropped to one knee, ring in hand, and asked her to marry him. Spoiler alert: she said yes, but only after turning off the stove, of course.
With her to-do list out the window, Tom whisked her away for a surprise spa day on Governor's Island, a chef’s table experience at Atomix, and a whole lot more surprises on their upcoming trip to Costa Rica. It was the perfect beginning to their next adventure.
